Rioja Vega Crianza 2012, 91 Points Wine Spectator

December 2015. RIOJA VEGA CRIANZA 2012 has been granted 91 POINTS by Wine Spectator magazine.

Renowned wine expert Thomas Matthews has announced this excellent rating in prestigious Wine Spectator magazine and has described Rioja Vega’s emblematic wine as follows:

“Focused and fresh, this red offers a juicy core of black cherry and plum, with smoky licorice and mineral accents. Light, firm tannins and crisp acidity give this structure before giving way to a floral, smoky finish. Drink now through 2022”.

In addition, Matthews has included it on top of his list in his article “Ten tempting Spanish values”, a selection o the best value wines from all wines tasted.

Several consecutive vintages of RIOJA VEGA CRIANZA have received exceptional ratings from Wine Spectator magazine and other eminent American journals, such as VINOUS which recently granted it 90 points.

Reputed publications from other countries have imparted outstanding critics to RIOJA VEGA CRIANZA as well. High-profile British critic Jamie Goode, for instance, invited the readers of The Daily Express newspaper to taste it. British newspaper The Independent on Sunday has recommended it a few times already.  And The Drinks Business magazine chose it among its Top Ten wines recommended by the UK press every week.

Founded in 1882, Rioja Vega has never given up in pursuit of the highest quality possible and unique character of its wines, a philosophy which has guaranteed success all through the more than 130 years history.
