January 2013. Rioja Vega Reserva is one of the three The Independent on Sunday’s Wines of The Week. Every Sunday, The influential British newspaper chooses three wines, outstanding for their style and quality.

Wines from all origins in the world reach the British Isles. This makes the British probably the world’s most competitive wine market.

This week, among all those wines, one of Great Britain’s most popular newspapers has decided to recommend Rioja Vega Reserva with the following description:

“A stylish, warming and smoothly elegant Rioja Reserva that can fend off January chills. Still young, with fresh and ripe fruit and hints of leather and vanilla, this would be perfect with a roast pheasant or Guinea fowl”.

Not only this vintage of Rioja Vega Reserva, but also many others before and after it have been given awards.

To name but a few examples, influential Northamerican wine critic Robert Parker granted the 2006 vintage 90 Points, which the 2008 vintage has recently raised to 91 Points. The latter also got a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge, one of the most prestigious international wine contests.

The fact that different vintages of the same wine have received such good critics and ratings is a result of Rioja Vega’s constant quest for the best possible quality.
A philosophy that has pushed quality levels up to the maximum over Rioja Vega’s more than 30 years of history.
