On
January 2001, the construction of the new winery started. It is located
in the town council of Viana, in the area known as Recajo - Venta
del Jalón, only 10 km away from Logroño, the capital
of the Rioja region.
The winery has 10.000 square meters divided in three buildings:
Elaboration cellar: It has3,000 m2.
Here is where the equipment and elaboration vats are located. The
elaboration capacity is 3 million kilograms of grapes. It has two
separated hoppers to unload the grapes.
The hoppers are self weighting to facilitate the work at the reception
of the grapes. The press is a pneumatic one. There are 30,000 litres
stainless steel self-emptying vats plus some smaller ones for specific
elaborations. All these vats include the jackets for the fermentation,
temperature control plus the pump-over mechanism. This building also
includes the cold-stabilization process. |

Ageing cellar: Underground cellar of
4,000 m2 destined to age the wines in wood plus the bottle cranes
and the equipment to fill and clean the barrels. The ageing cellar
has a capacity for 12,000 225 litres oak casks plus 2 million bottles
on bottle cranes. |
Bottling/warehouse: This building has an
area of 3,000 m2 sheltering the bottling line of 8.000 bottles per hour
fully automatic, together with the raw material warehouse, the final product
warehouse and the loading ramps.

Social area : Behind the gardened patio,
on top of the ageing cellar, there is a three storey building of 250
square meters per floor. The lower level harbour the guests reception,
on the first floor we have the offices, laboratory and tasting room
and over the second floor we have the kitchen and dinning room with
around 100 seats over watching the vineyard landscape. |
