We
have already planted 51 Tempranillo hectares and 9 Graciano hectares.
The objective is to arrive to 70 hectares of vineyards are planted in
the state that surrounds the winery.
The choices concerning plantation density, and trellises formation were
taken with the aim to control the canopy growth of the plants and with
the goal to obtain a perfect balance between wood and fruit.
At every stage quality was put as the highest priority, moderating the
production per vine and looking for a bigger amount of raisins of a smaller
size and weight. That is why the plantation density is very high: 4000
plants per hectare following a planting frame of 2,5 x 1 meter.
We have chosen low vigour root stocks, we have built the trellises high
and there is a full irrigation system that will be used properly to guarantee
the crop, maintaining however certain water stress to the plants.
