Rioja Vega

Rioja Vega Blanco

Pale yellow with green hues, clean and bright. To the nose it brings fruity, intense varietal aromas. Balanced, fresh and lively in the mouth, with tangy notes blending perfectly into the whole.

VARIETIES OF GRAPES

Viura: This Spanish grape is the most important white variety grown in La Rioja. Its cultivation covers an area of 18.972 acres (15% of the D. O.). 145.000 acres of Viura are cultivated in the world, from which 127.500 only in Spain. Viura has not many clusters, but they are very large.

It is more productive than red varieties, but very sensitive to rot. In cool areas it produces a bitter must, with a nice and particular flavour. This wine is considered apt to age in wooden casks, a traditional elaboration of Rioja white wines.
